Children in Willaston are among 75 who could lose their free school transport because Cheshire East Council says there are available walking routes.
The move could save the cash-strapped authority an estimated £79,500 a year, as it looks to plug a massive £20 million funding gap.
Nantwich parents are being urged to air their views on Cheshire East Council’s plans to change the way it funds school transport for those who need it.
Plans could include direct payments to eligible parents, only offering transport to pupils more than three miles from school, and changing its free transport policy for those with disabled parents.
Bus operators like D&G have stepped in to maintain services after GHA Coaches went in to administration.
Public services across South Cheshire were thrown into chaos after the company announced it was ceasing all operations on July 13.
