Organisers of this weekend’s Nantwich Christmas Lights switch on are urging families to get to town early. Thousands are expected to pack the town centre for the festive event which starts at 5.30pm in the town square.
Christmas has come early in Nantwich after 40 advertising hoardings promoting the town’s traders were unveiled. The boards, which also promote the November 30 Christmas lights switch on, are a joint project by Nantwich Town Council and local businesses.
TV vet Steve Leonard is the celebrity lined up to switch on the Christmas Lights in Nantwich this year. Leonard (pictured), who lives in Cheshire, is famous for hosting BBC shows including ”Orangutan Diaries” and “Vets in Practice”.
Reaseheath College in Nantwich has notched up a record year of student enrolments and achievements. The college’s annual awards ceremony celebrated the success of over 1,200 graduating FE students who have achieved industry qualifications and skills.
TV vet Steve Leonard will be in town to stage a one-off talk in aid of a local Scout group. The BBC presenter will discuss the ups and downs of teaching students while working with South Africa’s most dangerous wildlife.
