Nantwich Walking Football Club is proving more popular than ever as it nears its 10th year in existence.
The club was formed in 2015 by Ray Sheppard, who is chairman, along with five or six older men who wanted to continue playing at an easier pace.
Nantwich Walking Football has enjoyed a double celebration after securing new kits sponsored by Nantwich Television Centre and also finding a new home.
The new kits were launched with two friendly matches as Nantwich Over 60s played Neston Nomads and ran out 3-0 winners.
Nantwich Town Walking Football club are looking to recruit more over 50s and over 60s players.
The club is hoping to enter teams into Walking Football leagues and tournaments and is keen to attract more players.
Walking Football is kicking off big time in Nantwich and Cheshire East.
And now Everybody Sport & Recreation Trust is launching more sessions to cater for growing demand.
Football fans who like to play at a gentler pace can sign up to a one-off session being staged at Nantwich Town FC. The “Walking Football” event at the Weaver Stadium is aimed at the older generation still keen on playing the sport they love.
