Nantwich Town will be boosted by an international call-up for MK Dons defender Gary MacKenzie, who misses their FA Cup 1st round encounter.

MacKenzie will win his first cap for Scotland in a friendly against Cyprus on Friday night. It rules him out of the cup clash with the Dabbers the following day.

Jimmy Quinn’s side, in a rich vein of form themselves, will accept any help they can get as they face a daunting task to overhaul the League One promotion contenders.

Dons boss Karl Robinson said: “With Adam Smith and Ian McLoughlin both away on international duty as well, it shows we are moving in the right direction at this club.”

Meanwhile, Nantwich Town have issued thanks to Cheshire County FA and Northwich Villa for agreeing to move their Cheshire Senior Cup tie back a week.

This will give Quinn a week without a game to prepare for Saturday’s FA Cup game.

The Northwich game is now scheduled for Wednesday November 16 at the Victoria Stadium, kick off 7.45pm.
