A custom built centre for young people and adults who need help has been opened at Reaseheath College in Nantwich.
The Weaver Centre, which caters for 160 students, was described by Cheshire East Council as a blueprint for the future.
Unveiling a plaque,the council’s Lorraine Butcher said: “The centre has a unique setting in the centre of campus and students are very much part of the college community.
“I am impressed students and staff have already taken over ownership of the building and the pride that they have is very evident.”
The £423,000 self-contained building was funded by Cheshire East Council and Reaseheath College and includes three classrooms with computers, a tutorial room, a boot room and full disabled facilities.
The name Weaver was chosen by the students who contributed to the design and build of the centre.
Reaseheath Principal Meredydd David said: “We have wanted a dedicated centre like this for some years and we are very grateful for the financial contribution and support from Cheshire East Council.
“We are delighted Cheshire East has recognised our expertise and commitment and has chosen to support this shared vision.”
During a tour of the new facility, visitors watched students studying topics with a remembrance theme including the role of animals in the war.
