Nantwich Town could be about to land a loan deal for Championship midfielder David Lynch.

The Dabbers are hoping to complete the deal for the 18-year-old Burnley player later today (February 10).

Lynch was Burnley’s Young Player of the Season in 2010-11, and graduated from the Turf Moor Centre of Excellence to secure a one-year professional deal in July 2011.

Since then has been on loan at non league clubs Droylsden and Stalybridge Celtic to gain experience.

Meanwhile, Nantwich Town have come to the rescue of neighbours and rivals Northwich Victoria by agreeing to stage their FA Trophy match against Hampton & Richmond Borough.

The Vics’ postponed third round tie will now take place at the Weaver Stadium on Tuesday (February 14), kick off 7.45pm.

Nantwich decided to help after Northwich were evicted from their ground.

“It is a difficult time for Northwich and their fans,” said Nantwich Chairman Jon Gold.

“We are happy to help them out again.  Having said that, our playing surface is one of the best at this level and we are mindful of the wear and tear on our pitch.

“Our facilities director Eddie Beeston has been leading the negotiations with Vics and he, more than anyone, is mindful of the need to protect the surface.”
