Two burglaries in the Nantwich area could be connected, police believe.

The incidents happened in the villages of Burleydam and Newhall within an hour of each other.

The first happened between 6pm and 7pm at a house in Lodmore Lane in Burleydam on May 9.

Offenders walked in through an unlocked back door and escaped with jewellery.

Soon after, a house in Coole Lane, Newhall was targeted when thieves smashed through a conservatory window and escaped with a large amount of jewellery and credit card which was used to withdraw cash.

At the second address, a man was spotted by a witness in the front garden.

He was described as white, with a young face. He was wearing a navy blue zip-up jacket.

An old navy blue Landrover Discovery was parked nearby.
