A Nantwich theatre company has benefited from a £300 donation from the MARS Milk Fund.

The Jude Theatre Company, is a small team of artists and volunteers who deliver Applied Drama workshops in Cheshire.

The group, which works with all ages, abilities and backgrounds, runs sessions most days where members take part in fun acting lessons and work towards one off productions.

Helen Lees, theatre company member, said: “We have recently set up a partnership with Second Time Around Singers otherwise known as STARS who are an over 50’s choir who perform all over Staffordshire.

“With this donation from the MARS Milk Fund we can deliver four workshops with group members from both STARS and Jude Theatre Company to enhance everyone’s skills and enjoyment.”

A survey by MARS Milk  showed despite seven out of ten of us starting the week with intention of spending at least two hours on our favourite sport or hobby, cost and tiredness invariably put paid to these plans.

The MARS Milk Fund was set up to help individuals, clubs and groups to try something new or simply to spend more time playing their favourite sport or hobby.

The MARS Milk Fund, which came to an end this month (October 2013), donated five £300 awards each week.

The fund was open to residents of, and clubs and organisations based in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
