An 18-year-old woman from Nantwich has been charged with attempted murder after an alleged stabbing incident at a house.

Officers were called to a property in Nantwich after another teenage woman was treated by medics for a number of stab wounds at Leighton Hospital.

Police attended a property in the Millstone Lane area where it is believed the 18-year-old in hospital suffered the stab wounds at around 5am on Saturday (June 28).

At the address, officers found a second woman, also 18, who had suffered minor injuries and evidence of a struggle having taken place.

This woman was then arrested for assault. A 20-year-old man at the premises is being treated as a witness.

Enquiries continued throughout the day resulting in the arrested woman being charged with attempted murder and she was due to appear at South Cheshire Magistrates Court in Crewe earlier today (June 30).

The victim remains in hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said this was “an isolated incident” which was confined to the address in question and they are not looking for anyone else in connection with this matter.
