Almost 100 people enjoyed the summer sunshine at a  garden party in Acton held in support of Nantwich Museum.

They were guests of Deana and Gerald Emerton, who opened up their house and garden in Acton.

As well as the garden, a popular attraction with the visitors was Mr Emerton’’s collection of vintage motor buses and coaches.

An afternoon tea of sandwiches, cakes and tea was prepared and served by the ladies of the Nantwich Inner Wheel, led by Mrs Emerton.

Nantwich Town Council Mayor Cllr Christine Farrall also attended.

Nick Dyer, chair of the board of trustees of the museum, thanked those who helped and contributed to the afternoon, most of all Mr and Mrs Emerton for  hosting the event.

More than £1,000 was raised for museum funds.

The museum is an independent charitable trust financed by donations, sponsorship, commercial activities such as the shop and various grants. Admission to the museum is free.
