South Cheshire George Formby Ukulele Society in concert

An appeal has gone out to attract new members to the South Cheshire George Formby Ukulele Society.

The group, which meets and performs in Wistaston Memorial Hall, is free to join and play regularly throughout the year.

It was founded in 1994 and performs a concert on the fourth Friday of every month.

There are no membership fees to pay to attend a concert and the entrance fee is £1 to cover the cost of hall rent and light refreshments.

The 2015 concerts all start at 7.30pm and take place on February 27, March 27, April 24, May 22, June 26, July 24, August 28, September 25, October 23, November 27, and December 27.

There are also rehearsal sessions, to which new ukulele players are welcome, also at Wistaston Memorial Hall, on the third Tuesday of every month throughout the year.

The 2015 rehearsal sessions start at 7.30pm and take place on February 17, March 17, April 21, May 19, June 16, July 21, August 18, September 15, October 20, November 17, and December 15.

“You will be made to feel most welcome.

“Feel free to bring a friend along with you – you are sure to have a pleasant surprise.”
