Sale Sharks - Ben and Tom Curry, former Crewe & Nantwich RUFC twin stars

Former Crewe & Nantwich RUFC twins Ben and Tom Curry have signed deals with Sale Sharks, the club has confirmed.

The brothers have been in the Sharks Academy since the age of 14 after playing at the Vagrants throughout their younger years.

And the 17-year-olds have been key performers in Sale’s U18 side this season, with Ben captaining the side.

The duo, who studied at Bishop Heber High School near Malpas, are currently studying at Oundle School for their A-Levels.

The clubs says they will both join up with the Sharks in the summer for pre-season.

The back-rowers have featured at many England age-group levels, and played in the England U18s side in Six Nations.

Tom was awarded the BMW Man of the Match against Scotland in March. They are set to tour South Africa with England U18s this summer.

The brothers were part of the 2014 Bishop Heber High School team that won All England U16 Sevens tournament.

It became the first state school to lift the title for 27 years.

Brendan Thomas, Head of Shark Academy, said: “I am delighted that both Ben and Tom will be furthering their rugby development here at Sale Sharks.

“Hopefully, we will see them in a Sharks first team shirt soon as home-grown products from our North West region.”
