A teenage cyclist was seriously hurt in a collision with a car in South Cheshire which failed to stop.

The 17-year-old suffered serious injuries in the incident which happened on Wistaston Road in Crewe, close to the Duke of Bridgewater pub.

A major water main burst could keep the busy Rope Lane in Wistaston closed for another four days.

The burst happened earlier in the week, forcing Cheshire East Council to close off the Rope Lane bridge over the railway at the crossroads with Eastern Road and Gresty Lane.
