Young football stars at Brine Leas School in Nantwich have netted some new kits courtesy of a housing developer.

Anwyl Homes made the donation as a contribution to the community as part of its Audlem Road ‘Heathfields’ housing development at the back of the school.

The school currently plays many of its sporting fixtures in their PE kits due to a lack of funding.

So the school approached Anwyl Homes for support at the start of term.

Brine Leas PE teacher Toby Ward said: “We are incredibly grateful to Anwyl Homes for their generous donation.

“The school simply does not have the funding for professional football kits for the pupils to wear when playing matches, so the new kits are very much appreciated.

“Not only do the pupils look and feel great in the kits, but they reflect well on the school when we are travelling to away matches.”

Housing managing director at Anwyl Homes, Mathew Anwyl, added: “When Brine Leas School got in touch asking for our support we jumped at the chance to help.

“With children of my own involved in various sports I know how important it is for the team to look and feel good when competing, so the provision of the football kits was a pleasure.

“I hope the teams do well this year – they certainly look the part now!”

The Heathfields development includes around 40 new three, four and five bedroom homes.
