Families in Church Minshull near Nantwich are to benefit from a £10,146 grant to improve the interior of their village hall.

The money, awarded by WREN’s FCC Community Action Fund, will be used to upgrade the hot water systems and refurbish the walls and ceiling,
including improved electrical services in the Village Hall on Cross Street.

Rob Jones, a trustee of the Church Minshull Village Hall, believes the facility will make a huge difference to the lives of people living in the area.

He said: “This project will provide a real boost to the people of Church Minshull.

“It’s fantastic that WREN has awarded us this money and we’re really looking forward to the improvements to our Village Hall taking shape over the next three months.”

WREN is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community, biodiversity and heritage projects from funds donated by FCC Environment through the Landfill Communities Fund.

Richard Smith, WREN’s grant manager for Cheshire, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the building improvements at Church Minshull Village Hall
project and pleased our funding will make such a difference to so many groups of people in Church Minshull and the surrounding areas.

“WREN is always happy to consider grant applications for projects that benefit local communities and we’re looking forward to this one having a positive impact very soon.”

Rob Jones hopes the refurbished Village Hall will be ready to use in May 2018.

In the meantime, the Village Hall will remain open for bookings as usual and until the works start when the hall will be closed for about two weeks.
