Bunbury ward by-election – Green Party candidate Mark Sharkey

Alpraham resident Mark Sharkey has been chosen by Green Party as candidate in next week’s Bunbury ward be-election.

The seat – which covers the communities of Acton, Alpraham, Aston, Barbridge, Church Minshull and Reaseheath and Bunbury, was vacated by former Cheshire East Council Leader Michael Jones.

It was a case of every dog having its day for Dandie Dinmont Terrier Harrison who scooped a prestigious prize at Crufts 2018 for his Nantwich owner Julie Booth.

Three-year-old Harrison put his best paw forward at Birmingham’s NEC, impressing judges to scoop the Best of Breed award.

Four teenagers quizzed over Beam Street assault in Nantwich

Four teenagers have now been questioned in connection with the Beam Street assault on a 23-year-old man in Nantwich in January, police have confirmed.

A 16-year-old boy from Nantwich was arrested on February 10 on suspicion of affray, and a 15-year-old boy from Manchester was arrested on February 22 on suspicion of violent disorder.
