Showtime - Crewe Lyceum Theatre, to stage a wedding fayre, and summer events

I’ll admit that I’ve seen a few Disney films in my time.

Mostly from babysitting younger members of the family, which also means I’m familiar with a lot the songs.

My God-daughter knows more than me, so when I heard that Curtain Call and YSD were presenting a musical concert which celebrated Disney I knew she would love it.

And I wasn’t wrong.

“Wishes” was a wonderful concert enjoyed by everyone who was at The Lyceum in Crewe.

The Lion King opening with Sam Retford and Curtain Call looked and sounded fantastic.

After such a strong opening, you wonder what the rest of the show will bring, but it just got better and better.

I loved Tandie Stahl singing Colours in The Wind and Josephine Chapman who sang Just Around the River Bend.

There were so many performers involved in this show, that it would be impossible to mention them all.

Other highlights for me included; Jenny Hall singing Beauty and The Beast, Sean Clark-Wilkinson singing Proud of Your Boy and Darren Thornhill and Debbie Cornock singing When You Wish Upon a Star.

My God-daughter loved the High School Musical section performed by Curtain Call Youth, Beth Froud singing Poor Unfortunate Souls and Friend Like Me performed by Joel Montague and YSD Seniors.

When shows are produced to such high quality, I often remind myself that these are amateurs, and I feel so lucky to be part of a community which produces such talented performers.
