heavyweight boxer nathan gorman boxer

Nantwich heavyweight boxer Nathan Gorman put on a quality performance to destroy his opponent in three rounds last night.

Gorman, 21, was fighting Sean Turner on the Tyson Fury undercard and has now stretched his unbeaten record to 13-0.

Gorman, trained by Ricky ‘Hitman’ Hatton, took control from the first bell, and demonstrated his raw power to hurt Turner early on.

Some great combinations had his corner and supporters purring and Turner had little answer.

Turner was decked in the second round with some ripping body shots but was saved by the bell at the Manchester Arena.

However, more powerful combinations by Gorman saw the referee stop the fight in the third round.

Gorman is now hoping to set up an eargerly-awaited bout with heavyweight rival Daniel Dubois in what many boxing fans would see as a decider for Britain’s top heavyweight prospect.

Speaking after the bout, Gorman said: “I’ll happily accept the Dubois fight if it comes off next. We’ve both got the same promoter, it’s an easy fight to make in my eyes.”
