weapon charge for nantwich man

A Nantwich man has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon after an incident in the town centre.

Carl Hughes, 39, of Tyldesley Way, Nantwich, will face the charge when he is due to appear at Crewe Magistrates on August 30, say Cheshire Police.

Officers continue to investigate the incident involving a number of people which happened at around 7pm on Wednesday, August 8, close to the junction of Waterlode and High Street.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene where one man was taken to hospital with injuries.
