Nantwich Town have unveiled their full squad ahead of the start of the 2018/19 Evo-Stik Northern Premier League season this weekend, writes Steve Sharman.

Manager Dave Cooke has added a number of new faces to the squad over pre-season in addition to summer signings Danny Glover, James Lawrie and Joe Malkin who arrived in June.

Alongside these are Harry Cain, Craig Lindfield, Matt Ellson, Theo Stair, Aaron Knight and Louis Barnes who have all signed up, with Knight and Barnes subject to international clearance.

Lindfield began his career at Liverpool and has plenty of Football League and non-league experience, having played for Accrington Stanley, Macclesfield Town, FC United and Chester.

Cain has impressed for the Dabbers over pre-season and arrives from Prescot Cables having started his career at Altrincham.

Stair returns for his second spell with the club having been at the Weaver Stadium during the 2016/17 campaign and was more recently at Hanley Town. He is the cousin of defender Joel.

Ellson is a young goalkeeper who has also appeared in pre-season for the Dabbers and was previously with Sandbach United.

Knight is a pacy winger who was also at Sandbach, and appeared in the recent friendly between United and the Dabbers, putting in an impressive performance.

Barnes, an attacking left sided full-back, was previously with Colwyn Bay having started his career at Stockport County.

Boss Cooke has also acquired a number of familiar faces from last season as Matt Bell, Fabian Spiess, Clayton McDonald, Nathan Cotterell and Joe Mwasile all committed to another campaign with the club.

The first league game of the season is at the Weaver Stadium this Saturday August 18 when they entertain Gainsborough Trinity, 3pm kick off.
