The Crewe Regional Sunday Football League kicked off with games in Division One only.

Audlem travelled to Winnington to play newcomers Broadhursts but lost 3-1.

Chris Lawrence, Nathan Ormstan and Mustafa Sokmen netted for the home team whilst Mark Parker scored for Audlem.

White Horse had a comfortable 4-0 win over Sandbach Town, with goals from Dan Wade (2), Ryan Briddon and Kevin Beresford.

Winsford Over 3 also had a 4-0 win over newcomers AFC Wickstead, with goals from Tom Taylor (2), Aaron Harvey and Calvin Abbott.

Sydney Arms took the lead against much-fancied newcomers George and Dragon thanks to a long-range effort from Louis Everall.

But a burst of second half goals from Terry Cain (2), Scott Taylor and Brad Holmes gave the visitors a 1-4 win, despite having a man sent off.

Newcomers Nantwich Pirates had to be content with a 2-2 draw against Brighton Belle.

Mike Truan scored both goals for the Pirates, who led twice.

Daniel Larkin scored a late equaliser for the visitors whose other goal was scored by Mike Edwards.

Winsford-based The Ark lost 0-1 to White Lion.

The game between Haslington and White Eagles could not be played as White Eagles are still awaiting International Clearance for Polish-born players, a situation described by a League spokesman as “hugely frustrating for all concerned”.

Next Sunday (August 26) will see the first Premier Division fixtures.
