Katie Gibbs-Blythe from Crewe Vagrants Hockey Club presents the cheque to Liz and Mike Boffey from Bloodwise

Crewe Vagrants Hockey Club presented a cheque for £1,041.46 to Liz and Mike Boffey from the charity ‘Bloodwise’ at The Vagrants Ground, writes Jonathan White.

The money was raised by the club via a ‘Hockeython’ 12-hour hockey game at The Vagrants Ground in Willaston earlier this year.

Bloodwise was the chosen charity as a Ladies 1st team member of Crewe Vagrants – Steph Thompson – was diagnosed with Leukaemia earlier this year.

Steph is receiving treatment, so the club wanted to raise the profile of the charity and hopefully change the world for people diagnosed with blood cancers.

Liz Boffey, from Bloodwise South Cheshire branch, said: “Bloodwise South Cheshire are indebted to Crewe Vagrants for their fantastic 12 hour hockeython.

“All monies raised go directly into Blood Cancer research.

“As the local Bloodwise branch, it’s great to be fund raising locally in this way.”
