One of Nantwich’s oldest residents celebrates 105th birthday at Richmond Village

Family, friends and neighbours joined Nantwich resident Lena Arger to celebrate her 105th birthday.

Lena, one of the town’s oldest residents, moved to Richmond Nantwich retirement village 13 years ago when she bought an apartment at the spritely age of 92!

Number of Cheshire people seeking help over child sex images doubles in six months

The number of people in Cheshire seeking help to stop looking at sexual images of children online has more than doubled in just six months, latest figures have shown.

In the six months between July 2017 and January 2018, 163 people in the county contacted Stop it Now!, the child sexual abuse prevention project run by child protection charity The Lucy Faithfull Foundation.

Wellington Bomber crew remembered at Bridgemere service

A commemorative service was held at the Royal Air Force’s Memorial at Bridgemere to remember the crew of a Wellington bomber which crashed near to the village.

The commemoration took place exactly 74 years to the day the plane disintegrated over Bridgemere, crashing just off the A51 and killing six of the seven crew.
