Crewe Lyceum welcomed Anita Harris, star of the stage and screen to Crewe on Sunday night, writes Claire Faulkner.

Anita Harris in Concert was an evening of song, chat and humour about her life and career in the 1960s and 70s.

In between performing fabulous show tunes such as ‘All That Jazz’, ‘Memory’ and ‘Hello Dolly’, Anita told stories about her time working in Las Vegas, her appearances in two Carry On films and seasons she spent at The London Palladium.

She worked alongside stars like Tommy Cooper, Frankie Howard and Harry Secombe.

Anita had a great connection with the audience, chatting to them throughout the evening.

She spoke about how the entertainment industry has changed throughout her career and taking part in reality TV, such as ‘Last Laugh in Vegas’ has been an exciting new challenge.

Anita also performed some of her own hits from the 60s, including; ‘Just Loving You’, ‘The Anniversary Waltz’ and ‘Trains and Boats and Planes.’

It was a lovely evening listening to a remarkable woman, who stills sounds like she’s at the top of her career.
