winter - key workers testing - COVID-19 deaths - MCHFT careers fair at Leighton Hospital

Leighton Hospital is to host its annual NHS Careers Fair on Wednesday March 6.

The fair, organised by Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is a free event open to students from Year 9 upwards as well as adults, who would like to find out more about job opportunities in NHS organisations.

There will also be a chance to find out about current vacancies at Mid Cheshire Hospitals – one of a handful of trusts across the country to be rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

More than 30 stands will be on display covering departments and professions including nurses, doctors, paramedics, pharmacy, theatres, maternity, orthopaedics, volunteering, IT and recruitment.

There will also be representation from local colleges and universities.

Tracy Bullock, Chief Executive at Mid Cheshire Hospitals, said: “The careers fair is a great opportunity to learn about some of the 350 different roles available in the NHS and to discover which path you would like to take.

“We will also be offering information and advice on apprenticeships, work experience, volunteering, medical shadowing and traineeships.

“Last year’s event was a great success and we look forward to welcoming those who may be interested in working for the NHS and, in particular, Mid Cheshire Hospitals.”

The fair will take place in the Postgraduate Medical Centre’s Lecture Hall, Leighton Hospital, between 6pm and 9pm.

There is no need to book a place, those interested can simply drop by on the day.

Free car parking will be available in the hospital’s staff car parks from 5.30pm on the evening by pressing the intercom button at the barriers.
