Wrenbury and District Model Railway Club, in conjunction with Whitchurch Museum and Archives, will be holding a model railway display as part of the Heritage Open Days event on Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th of September.

On display you will find working models in various gauges, some of which form part of the modular sections of the club layout. Members will be on hand to discuss matters relating to model railway construction and railways in general.

For anyone thinking about taking up railway modelling as a hobby, this is an ideal opportunity to get some detailed information from experienced modellers. Free magazines to help you will be available.

There will also be a slideshow of pictures of Whitchurch station in the days of steam. The display will be open between 11.00 hrs and 16.00 hrs on both days in the Tithe Barn adjacent to the Sainsbury store, Whitchurch and admission is free.

In addition to the display there will be a heritage railway walk on each of the days which will explore the railway history of the town, these walks will start at 1.00pm each day and last about 2.5 hours – more information from Whitchurch Museum (tel 01948 664577)
