An 11-year-old boy is in hospital after being attacked in Queens Park in Crewe, say police.

Officers now want witnesses to come forward after the incident which happened shortly before 3.15pm today (Sunday September 8)

The victim was by the lake when he was pushed off his bike and assaulted by a group of boys.

He was taken to Leighton Hospital for his injuries to be assessed.

Insp Amber Hodson said: “There were plenty of people in the park at the time, and I would urge them to contact police if they saw anything but have not yet spoken to police.

“I’d also appeal to anyone who recorded the assault on their phones to send this to us to help us with our enquiries.”

Three boys, all from Crewe aged 14, 15 and 16 have been arrested on suspicion of assault.
