Second-half - Nantwich Town fight for the ball v Oldham

Nantwich Town U18s have been knocked out of the FA Youth Cup after going down to a 4-1 defeat away at Oldham Athletic in the first round.

The young Dabbers fell behind after 17 minutes when Jack Williams delivered a low cross and Speed slotted past goalkeeper Hawkins.

Oldham then missed a penalty minutes later after Speed was brought down, Kyle Wych dragging his spot-kick wide of the post.

The hosts did go 2-0 ahead on 28 minutes when a Charley Leech ball into the box hit a defender and rebounded in to the net leaving Hawkins with no chance.

Speed added a third goal and his second just after the break, effectively ending the contest, when he tapped home a Lewis McKinney cross.

And it was 4-0 on 55 minutes when Emmerson was played through one on one and coolly slotted past Hawkins.

The Nantwich stopper came to the visitors’ rescue on several occasions, and Nantwich earned themselve a consolation on 86 minutes.

Henry Waterer struck an ambitious shot from distance which Oldham keeper Allen fumbled and it bounced into the net.
