Nantwich Museum is to stage a Holly Holy Day commemoration and “Road to the Battle of Nantwich” talks.

Holly Holy Day will commemorate the 1644 Battle of Nantwich this month on January 25.

And local experts Keith Lawrence, Brian Cole and Helen Cooke will be speaking on “Road to the Battle of Nantwich” 2pm to 3.30pm on Wednesday January 22.

Places for the talks can be booked at the Museum and cost £5 (£4 for Museum Members).

The programme of events at the Museum on Holly Holy Day, Saturday January 25 is:

10.00 am – Civil War tour of the town (£4.00, Museum Members £3.00).
10.30 am – 11.30 am – Pike and Musketry demonstration led by members of The Sealed Knot (free entry).
11.30 am – Civil war tour of the town (£4.00, Museum Members £3.00).
11.45 am -12.45 pm 17th century music by Forlorne Hope (free entry).

A model depicting the 1644 Battle of Nantwich will be on display in the Joseph Heler Room (upstairs) throughout the day.
