Isabel Cundy - NHS Charities April running challenge

Nantwich mum Isabel Cundy is hitting the treadmill hard this month – to raise vital funds for NHS during the Coronavirus crisis.

Isabel will be running 10k every day in April as part of her fund-raising efforts to “give a little back”.

The Brine Leas School worker, who lives in Chorley, said she was keen to help those NHS workers battling to beat the COVID-19 pandemic gripping the UK.

And she already within touching distance of her £500 target – and now hopes to raise even more.

Isabel, who has a 10-year-old daughter, said: “The money I raise will go to NHS Charities Together who are actively helping those working round the clock to beat Covid 19.

“They give over £1 million pounds each day to the NHS.

“I have already received great support and promises of more sponsorship but every little will help.

“I try to keep fit and am a member of the health club at Rookery Hall.

“Last year I completed a 100km Ultra Challenge walk in the Peak District with my husband and raised more than £4,000 for Young Minds.

“I have done lots of running in the past, mostly 5 and 10k races but thought given I have more time on my hands I could run everyday and try and raise money to help the NHS in challenging times.

“I have seen first hand how amazing the NHS are having seen how well they have taken care of me personally very recently and the care my family and friends have received over the last few years has been incredible.

“It’s a chance to give a little bit back.”
