A man suffered a serious facial injury in an alleged stabbing at a house in Nantwich.

The incident is thought to have happened at a property on Welsh Row in the early hours of Saturday (August 1).

Police say one man, 26, has been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released on bail.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson confirmed: “At 1.27am on Saturday 1 August police were called to Welsh Row in Nantwich following reports of a 25-year-old man with a serious facial injury.

“The incident is believed to have happened inside a nearby address.

“The victim was taken to hospital to be treated and has since been discharged from hospital.

“A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a Section 18 assault.

“He has since been released on conditional bail.“
