A Nantwich man has been charged in connection with drug and firearm offences, police said today.

Alexander Hewson, 28, of Weaver Road, has been charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs.

Hewson has also been charged with conspiracy to possess a firearm.

Hewson and a second man Michael Davies, of Prospect Vale, in Liverpool, were arrested at around 5am on Tuesday 29 September.

Davies has also been charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs.

They have been remanded in custody and appeared at Warrington Magistrates Court today (Wednesday 30 September).

The charges relate to early morning warrants executed yesterday (September 29) in connection with serious and organised crime.

Both men have been remanded in custody and will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court, on a date to be fixed.
