rugby - Crewe and Nantwich Academy beat Old Aldwinians

Crewe and Nantwich Senior Academy hit the ground running with an opening day demolition of Old Aldwinians.

The Vagrants based team ran out easy 61-5 winners in the first league game of the season.

They ran in nine tries in all, with eight conversions, while their opponents scored one consolation try.

A Crewe and Nantwich Academy spokesman said: “It was a great start to the season with a victory over a strong Aldwinians side.

“There is plenty to work on but so many positives and a great benchmark so early in the season.

“Thanks for all the support, players, parents, senior players watching, and our very generous sponsors.”

Academy try scorers were Jacob (4), Logan (2), and one each for Adam, Ollie G and Bob.

Logan also kicked five conversions with Bob adding another three.
