Staff at Jacksons Opticians on Welsh Row in Nantwich have helped raise \u00a3690 for the Charity Guide Dogs.<\/p>\n

The independent optometry practice, established in 1888, chose to support the charity which helps more than 350 blind and partially sighted people across Cheshire and Merseyside.<\/p>\n

The Nantwich practice raised the funds by pledging to donate \u00a310 for each sight test carried out during January, raising a total of \u00a3690.<\/p>\n

The donation was received by Crewe-based guide dog owner, Geoff and his guide dog Cassie.<\/p>\n

Guide Dogs Engagement Officer, Penny Anderson said: “We were delighted that Jacksons<\/a> had chosen to support Guide Dogs with their fundraising mission.<\/p>\n

“Sight-loss affects every part of a visually-impaired person\u2019s life, at Guide Dogs, we believe every person with sight loss should have the confidence and support they need to live their life to the full.<\/p>\n

“It is only with the support of public donations that we are able to ensure that Guide Dogs is a part of the lives of visually impaired people and to be by their side at every stage of their lives.”<\/p>\n

There are many ways to be a part of Guide Dogs, whether it\u2019s doing some fundraising of your own, or volunteering to support a local visually impaired person.<\/p>\n
