The former Thomas cook shop on Swine Market in Nantwich has re-opened under the Hays Travel company.<\/p>\n
Sunderland-based Hays took over more than 500 Thomas Cook holiday stores after the company went into administration last month.<\/p>\n
Those stores included ones in Nantwich and Crewe as well as in Congleton, Hanley, Affinity Staffordshire, Newcastle, Longton, Stafford, and Rugeley.<\/p>\n
All staff from the Thomas Cook shops were also offered their jobs back.<\/p>\n
Kelly Huntington, of Thomas Cook Nantwich, said: “We just wanted to let everyone know we will be back open and will be branded as Hays – it’s a different name with the same old faces!<\/p>\n
“We were devastated when we closed but are so excited to be back.<\/p>\n
“We will be open 9.30am to 5pm Monday – Friday whilst we find our feet and get settled.”<\/p>\n
Cheshire Constabulary hosted a recruitment event for people who lost their job as a result of the collapse of Thomas Cook.<\/p>\n
The insight event on Friday October 18 was open to former employees or subcontracted staff of the travel firm.<\/p>\n
Members of staff from different departments were available to talk about the important work they do to support the frontline.<\/p>\n
Hayley Tickle, Human Resources Manager at Cheshire Constabulary, said: “Cheshire Constabulary is a high performing, ambitious force and we aim to be an employer of choice, developing a workforce which reflects the diversity of our communities.”<\/p>\n
Cheshire Constabulary will be recruiting an additional 90 officers in 2020 as part of the national uplift recently announced by the government.<\/p>\n
