A Nantwich tech company which used 3D printers to make life-saving face shields for keyworkers on the COVID-19 frontline, is selling excess stock to raise charity funds.<\/p>\n

Gateway Electronic Components has been involved in the 3D manufacture of components for use in face shields used witin the NHS and community care system for protection against virus transmission.<\/p>\n

The firm has now fulfilled orders in the North West and Midlands, and has supplied more than 3,000 shields to more than 30 care providers.<\/p>\n

It appealed for more 3D printers to increase production, and a number of Nantwich News readers came forward to help<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Technical manager Josh Bishop said: “We have some remaining stock of these face shields and are now offering these on a first-come-first-served basis to local companies that may shortly be reopening to provide services to the community.<\/p>\n

“The face shields are supplied in packs of 5 and can be purchased online using this link:
\nhttps:\/\/gatewaycando.com\/covid-19-face-shield-pack-of-5<\/a><\/p>\n

“These can be delivered to your premises if necessary and the website enables you to enter the address details, or alternatively these can be collected from our Nantwich premises.<\/p>\n

“The \u00a320 charge per pack of 5 is just sufficient to cover the cost of raw materials, however all revenues that we make from the sale of this remaining stock will be donated to a local charity.<\/p>\n

“The details of this charity will be published once the stock has been depleted.<\/p>\n

“If there is sufficient demand to justify further manufacturing of the shields then further announcements will follow.<\/p>\n
