Everything Genetic Ltd in Nantwich has appointed Dr James Mackay as its UK & International Medical Director.<\/p>\n
Dr Mackay is one of the UK’s first accredited Consultant Clinical Genetic Oncologist with a special interest in cancer genetics.<\/p>\n
He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Research Department of Oncology, the Cancer Institute, and University College London, and has been involved in clinical academic projects throughout his career.<\/p>\n
He established the NHS Cancer Genetics Services in East Anglia at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and North East Thames at Great Ormond Street Hospital.<\/p>\n
He left the NHS to establish a private practice in 2006, acting as clinical advisor to several commercial genetic testing companies for more than 25 years.<\/p>\n
In his new position, Dr Mackay will provide clinical leadership, strategy, and oversight for the provision of the company\u2019s hereditary genetic cancer and somatic mutation testing services.<\/p>\n
His experience and expertise will also be called upon to educate and advise patients with cancer and people with a family history of cancer as part of our pre and post-consultative support package to help them make informed decisions.<\/p>\n
