A Nantwich salon boss has scooped a top award for staying in touch with clients and the local community helping to keep spirits up during the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Steven Burgin, on Hospital Street, is the winner of Joico\u2019s prestigious *Social Savvy Salon* award after proving a cut above for its efforts to \u2018inform, entertain and motivate\u2019 on social media.<\/p>\n

Throughout the health crisis, the salon has staged various initiatives to raise money for charity, keep local people informed on hair tips and reward team members.<\/p>\n

Posting primarily on Facebook, it has has raised more than \u00a3500 for Charity Water which brings clean water to families in developing countries after clients and people walking by called to chip in their spare change.<\/p>\n

The salon, now in its 20th year in Nantwich, also fundraised for Help for Heroes and The Little Princess Trust which provides free wigs to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatments.<\/p>\n

It has introduced a new online booking system and a marketing app for Nantwich while welcoming new team members David Fortune as Creative Director and Rebecca Dutton as Salon Coordinator.<\/p>\n

American hair brand Joico staged a virtual awards ceremony where owner Steven Burgin was named winner of the new award category.<\/p>\n

The salon uses the products in all services including colouring and owner Steve Burgin is a former Joico Business Manager of the Year.<\/p>\n

Steve said: \u201cAlthough not the 20th anniversary year we had planned owing to the pandemic, we went all out to demonstrate positive PR with a wide variety of story lines.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis has been a challenging time for us all but our clients and the Nantwich community have shown their community spirit and kindness donating money to our charity activities and keeping in touch on social media during extended lockdowns. We can\u2019t wait to welcome them again.\u201d<\/p>\n
