A new music record shop in Nantwich has found a permanent home!<\/p>\n

Steve Cook’s enterprise has been music to the ears of many in the town since he launched Applestump Records earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Now, after launching online and staging a series of pop-up shops in different places, Steve has found a permanent home – a unit in Riley’s Garage courtyard on Barker Street.<\/p>\n

And he plans to open for the first time this Saturday June 26.<\/p>\n

Steve said: “Our trading hours will be flexible to suit the needs of our customers, so evenings and weekends to work around people\u2019s jobs.<\/p>\n

“The shop has a kitchen in there so the plan is to have a sofa and chairs and offer people a brew as they browse or just to sit and look at their new records and meet and talk to like-minded people.”<\/p>\n

We revealed earlier this year how Steve had put his lockdown boredom to good use by launching the new music store, called Applestump Records.<\/a><\/p>\n

Steve was so frustrated at not being able to buy a vinyl record anywhere that he decided to run one himself \u2013 and Applestump Records was born.<\/p>\n

Steve, who hails originally from Cwmbran in Wales, said the closure of traditional record shops sparked his decision to launch the new venture.<\/p>\n

He hopes Applestump Records, Nantwich will pay homage to the \u201clittle shop in Cwmbran\u201d he remembers as a youngster 25 years ago.<\/p>\n

“The shop specialises in new vinyl records across the whole musical spectrum from alternative to indie, folk, rock, hip-hop, dance, funk and soul.<\/p>\n

“If I do not currently hold stock of something you want, I am able to order it from one of the half-a-dozen distributors I have an account with.”<\/p>\n
