Nantwich-based construction product supplier TIMCO has launched a recruitment drive as it expands following a 14% rise in turnover.<\/p>\n
TIMCO’s increase in turnover equates to \u00a349.7m for 2020, and the firm is predicting a \u00a360 million turnover for 2021.<\/p>\n
The rapid growth, in the run up to the company\u2019s 50 years in business, has promoted expansion plans for its facilities in Wardle, Nantwich.<\/p>\n
And the company, which currently employs 180 people, has launched a recruitment drive.<\/p>\n
The firm was set up in 1972 by Tim Midwood, and is now led by the son of the founder, Simon Midwood.<\/p>\n
During the pandemic the company experienced a surge in demand for its products, driven by home improvements.<\/p>\n
It made a \u00a31.1m investment to increase warehouse space to 120,000 sq ft and more automation for greater efficiency.<\/p>\n
It also secured six acres of land next to its current site which will allow it to double its storage capacity.<\/p>\n
Online sales have increased from 20% to over 50% of all sales within the last 12 months due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n
This year, TIMCO has launched more than 750 new lines including this month\u2019s new range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and a new range of hand tools by the year end.<\/p>\n
Simon Midwood, Managing Director, said: “We are delighted that, despite a challenging year with the pandemic and shortages of raw materials, we have been able to grow the business significantly.<\/p>\n
“With our 50th year in business nearly upon us, we aim to grow even further and predict a \u00a360 million turnover when our accounts are finalised for 2021.<\/p>\n
