A Nantwich travel agents rescued the beloved teddy bear of a customer left behind in a Spanish hotel.
Hazel Higham, from Nantwich, was heartbroken when she returned home from holidays without her most treasured possession – Scruff the teddy bear.
The much-loved bear was of huge sentimental value to Hazel with a whole life time of happy memories.
Even though she had not booked the holiday through Hays, the team at Nantwich Oat Market jumped to the rescue.
Hazel, from Nantwich, said: “When I got back and realised I had left Scuff thousands of miles away in Spain I was devastated.
“I couldn’t believe I had managed to forget him.
“I got straight in touch with my local Hays Travel branch to see if they could help me get him back. I didn’t hold much faith but knew I had to do something.
“Everyone at Hays Travel was just great.
“They contacted the hotel for me and managed to find Scruff and get him sent back home safe.
“I really can’t thank the girls enough for their help. They really went above and beyond for me.”
Lynne Smith, Travel Consultant at Hays, said: “After hearing how much Scruff meant to Hazel we knew we had to try our best to reunite them.
“We were delighted when the hotel located him and we were able to let Hazel know he was coming home.
“It is an amazing feeling when you can help someone and they are so grateful.”
Hazel now has two holidays booked with Hays Travel for this year and will be keeping a much tighter hold of Scruff this time.
