A Crewe and Nantwich pet service company has been shortlisted for a national award.
Emma Caskie, who runs HoundClub Pet Services, offers dog walks, pet sitting and mobile grooming.
And her efforts throughout the pandemic year have seen her shortlisted as a finalist in the National Animal Star Awards UK for the category of Best Pet Related Business which will be judged in March.
The business had to adapt to changes that the Covid crisis has brought.
Since then it has provided care for dogs when owners have needed hospital stays, and offered free transport to vet appointments for anyone that wasn’t able to get their pets to the vets if isolating.
Emma also volunteers for a rescue charity fostering dogs that have found homeless when owners have died from Covid, or have been bought in lockdown by families who struggle to keep the dog.
She said: “The community in Crewe/Nantwich is so dog friendly, there are some wonderful walks in the local area and we are delighted to have been shortlisted for this award.
“I’m really pleased to even be a nominee, but to be shortlisted as a finalist during such a difficult year for small businesses is just amazing.
“Pets are such an important part of peoples lives and especially during the pandemic their companionship has helped so many people cope during these difficult times.
“It’s an honour to be recognised as a company providing high quality pet care and being a pet service people can trust with their beloved pets.”
