Nantwich Bookshop boss Steve Lawson is combining his daily lockdown exercise – by delivering books across the town on his bike!
Steve was keen to ensure those in self isolation during the COVID-19 lockdown would not go without essential reading.
So he dusted off his saddle and the orders have been coming in thick and fast!
Steve and Denise, who run the Nantwich Bookshop and Coffee Lounge on the town square, have had to close their premises during the Coronavirus outbreak.
However, like many businesses, Steve wanted to continue to provide a service on the book sales side of the business.
And he has been making sure people self-isolating still have books to read, as he has been delivering books directly to customers.
The service has become an important lifeline for residents who have been forced into quarantine.
Steve can source books from numerous publishers and payments can be taken over the phone, or on delivery by Steve who delivers the book orders via bicycle.
Free delivery is available within a 15-mile radius.
An online retail shop is being launched within their existing website https://www.nantwichbookshop.co.uk/
Steve said: “I will continue to deliver books to our customers who are having to stay inside.
“I also sell gift cards that can be used in both the bookshop and the coffee lounge when we reopen after lockdown.
“We thank all our customers for their continued support during this difficult period.”
