A young mum is helping to nurture businesses through the pandemic as part of her new role at a long-established Nantwich accountancy firm.
Emma Whitehouse has joined Barringtons Chartered Accountants as a Senior Client Service Manager where she is the ‘face’ of free online workshops offering advice to support business owners through the economic crisis.
The weekly events on Tuesdays at 9.15am focus on practical measures to help businesses to understand their financial data, plan for growth, retain customers and keep control of costs.
She said: “Barringtons are part of the ‘Accountants for Good’ network and I was attracted by the ethos of the company to go the extra mile for clients and do things a bit differently.
“The workshops we run offer practical tips while helping businesses understand their financial results and the impact they have on their future growth.
“By understanding that data on a real time basis, we can help businesses to plan and forecast for the future.”
Emma combines working at Barringtons with being a mum to two-year-old Oliver.
She was previously based at another local firm where she gained considerable experience in specialist work including due diligence, forecasting, tax planning, company restructures and business valuations.
Emma added: “At Barringtons we are working extremely hard to help businesses emerge from the chaos being created by the pandemic and recent headlines of the UK entering a recession.
“The workshops aim to increase business resilience and the feedback has been amazing.
“It is so rewarding to show our efforts are also having a huge impact by linking our services to the local business community to providing help for the disadvantaged.
“For every client, contact or referrer that attends one of our workshops, we are giving a book to a child in Emergency Care in the UK.”
