The public vote has opened for the 2020 Taste Cheshire Food and Drink Awards to find the most popular venues in Cheshire.
More than 40,000 votes were cast last year with organisers hoping to beat that as the awards enter their 22nd year.
They are looking for the best pub, café, restaurant, newcomer and produce manufacturer in Cheshire.
Winners over the past 20 years have come from all over the county with many Nantwich businesses landed accolades.
Taste Cheshire General Manager Briony Wilson said: “We opened the polls on Friday with a soft launch to make sure everything was working and we have already had more than 2,000 votes cast.
“It thrills us all to know our Taste Cheshire members and the many customers of our fabulous food and drink industry across Cheshire and North Wales want to take part in nominating their favourite places and produce.
“It’s been another incredible year for the industry with many new venues, more food producers and these awards highlight those who are at the very top of their game, giving them the plaudits they richly deserve.”
Customers are encouraged to vote for their favourite place in each category by going on line to www.tastecheshire.com and visiting the awards page. Voting is free.
Voting closes on March 2 when Taste Cheshire will name the four/five nominations of finalists in each category.
These will then be mystery dined/shopped by a panel of industry judges.
Judges will complete a report on each venue/product, which then becomes available to the venue after the winners have been announced at the awards dinner, showing how their business was judged.
The 2020 winners will be crowned at a gala dinner on April 15 at the Pavilion at Chester Racecourse.
