rachel rodgers nose to trail dog trainer

Award-winning dog trainer Rachel Rodgers has moved her business to Nantwich.

Rachel, whoi has won two awards for Dog Training and Dog Behaviour, is owner of Nose to Trail and is a Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB) and Accredited Dog Trainer.

In November 2018, she won the inaugural Animal Trainer/Behaviourist of the Year awards at the National Animal Star Awards for her work with rescue dogs.

The former RSPCA manager also set up the Shropshire branch of Dogs Trust Dog School.

In March 2020 at the start of the Covid pandemic, Rachel left Dogs Trust and set up her own company Nose to Trail to allow her to focus on her clinical animal behaviour cases.

She went on to win Dog Trainer of the Year from the Prestige Awards just months later.

Rachel was crowned with the title in July 2020 after being nominated by her customers in the Tarporley area.

Just before Christmas, Rachel and her two dogs, Rico and Maisy moved her business to Nantwich.

She said: “We are delighted to now be living so close to Nantwich, and when restrictions ease I’m looking forward to visiting the dog friendly cafes and pubs with my dogs.”

Clinical Animal Behaviourists only work off vet referrals.

Rachel added: “As humans we know if we have a bad headache, our tolerance to other people’s behaviour is lower.

“We may shout at our family members to be quiet if they are blaring music too loudly!

“The same happens for dogs, pain can impact their behaviour but they can’t explain this to us, so sometimes this is seen in their behaviour.

“They may become more aggressive, or fearful of being touched.

“That’s why it is vital before I take on any new clients, they go and see their vet.

“I communicate with their vet throughout and together we help the owner and their dog to over come their problem.”
