Boughey Distribution’s two sites in South Cheshire have received high marks in BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution accreditation.

The new state-of-the-art 237,734 sq ft warehouse off the A500 in Shavington attained a ‘double A’ standard while, in an unannounced audit undertaken without the company receiving notice.

And it’s original 48-acre site in Wardle near Nantwich was awarded an ‘A+’ standard.

The BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution recognises best practice and facilitates a process of continual improvement through well-designed risk-based product safety management systems.

It ensures quality and safety of products during storage and distribution throughout the supply chain.

The two-day inspections at the two sites were conducted by independent inspectors and managed by Boughey’s Quality Management Audit Supervisor, Sarah Hall.

In an exceptional year, the team at Boughey has managed unprecedented demand due to both the Covid-19 pandemic and preparations ahead of Brexit.

The extensive fit-out of the new warehouse in Crewe also took place at the height of the crisis.

Warehouse Operations Director, Danny Earp said: “Our team has worked so hard during the very tough recent months to keep vital food supplies moving around the country.

“To receive high-standard accreditations for both our original site and our new warehouse are a real testament to the high standards that radiate throughout the company and it’s all down to the great people we have working with us.

“To gain this formal feedback from the BRC couldn’t be better third-party endorsement of this.

“Getting the new facility in Crewe open during the tough months presented by the Covid-19 crisis demanded diligence and a great effort from everyone involved in the project.”
