Futura Site - acquired by Joseph Heler

Nantwich cheese manufacturers Joseph Heler has acquired Futura Foods Wales for an undisclosed sum.

Futura Foods Wales, based in Minffordd, currently employs 60 people.

It specialises in the cutting, blending and packing of multiple cheese formats.

The site is currently working with Cheddars, Mozzarella, Territorials and Continental cheeses.

Joseph Heler Managing Director George Heler said: “Futura Foods Wales is a fantastic site with huge potential.

“It offers the Joseph Heler customer base increased capability and capacity across all cheese formats.

“In addition we have further capability investments planned for this year securing a really positive future for current employees and future employees in the area.”

As part of the transaction, Hatherton-based Joseph Heler will continue to supply Futura Wales’ existing customers and conduct business as usual.

Joseph Heler is a third generation family business, founded in 1957.

It launched Eatlean in 2016, the UK’s first high protein, low calorie, 3% fat cheese.

In January 2022, Joseph Heler also acquired a majority stake in Lymn Bank Farm, a specialist blended and waxed cheese producer.
