Tom's Tap

Owners of The Cheese Shop Nantwich are bringing their products to homes with ‘virtual cheese tasting’ sessions, writes Hannah Youds.

Partnering up with Tom’s Tap and Brewhouse in Crewe, the two businesses have worked together to match cheeses with beers for people to enjoy.

“We send everything out 2 or 3 days beforehand so that everybody’s got everything and it seems to work very well,” said Nick, co-owner of the shop alongside his friend Chris.

The pair started the business on Hospital Street in October 2020, with Nick running front of house and Chris managing the accounts and behind the scenes work.

Nick added: “30 people were on the last one and the next one has already sold out.

“We have a few spaces left on the two sessions we are running at the end of February, however they are selling fast.”

These “mirror” events will be taking place on the 19th and 20th February, with the same cheese and beer tasting being repeated on both nights.

30 tickets are aiming to be sold for each, giving more people the chance to experience what’s on offer.

And to keep people entertained throughout the lockdown, Tom’s Tap and Brewhouse are looking at what other events they can do for customers and will report back in due course.

You can buy tickets for the tasting events by logging into the Tom’s Tap and Brewhouse website here.

The Cheese Shop Nantwich is also in full Valentine’s Day swing, creating special hampers which you can buy online and in-store.

These will include; Two heart shaped cheeses; The red wax covered Godminster Cheddar and The Neufchatel AOP, a box of Heart & Flour Toast, Red Chilli Jelly and a bottle of Fabio Ceschin Prosecco.

You can visit their website here for more information on the hampers.
