Boughey & Crewe AFC Community - October 2021 (1)

South Cheshire firm Boughey Distribution has renewed its annual sponsorship with Crewe Alexandra and has backed the community coaching team attached to the Crewe Alexandra Soccer Centre.

The 12 coaches, whose kit will feature Boughey branding, work with up to 4,000 children each week, both at the Soccer Centre and throughout local schools.

Although the programme was hit by the Covid epidemic throughout 2020, coaches are now back working at full capacity.

Danny Earp, Boughey’s Warehouse Operations Director, visited the Soccer Centre to officially handover the branded kit to Operations Manager Melvin Bates and Matt Halliwell from the coaching team.

Boughey has centres at Wardle off the A51 and a new centre in Shavington off the A500.

Danny said: “It’s great news that we have been able to forge a partnership with the Soccer Centre to support its coaches and the great work they do in our local community inspiring young people and getting them into sport.

“We are one of the biggest employers in the local area, with the majority of our 680 members of staff living close to our sites just down the road in Shavington and in Wardle.

“Many of our staff members have young children who benefit from the work carried out by the coaches.”

Melvin Bates said: “The club has enjoyed a successful partnership with Boughey for a number of years and extending the sponsorship to our team of coaches is a real bonus for us.

“Both our organisations operate at the heart of the community here in Crewe and the surrounding area and we look forward to a long association.”

As well as supporting the Community Centre, Boughey also sponsor the Club’s mascot, Gresty, and the stadium clock at Mornflake Stadium.
